Background
Timeless Awards is an independent film festival, founded in 2021 by Daniel Światły, with an intention of creating a hub for filmmakers and artists from around the globe to connect and display their film built around Time and Memories themes.
Objective
Create a brand identity that reflects the festival's timeless image of Time, Memory, and Stream of Thoughts.
The starting point 
The blank page with only three keywords – Time. Memory and Film.

The design process
How to create an image of Time and Memory? How to create a timeless image? I started looking for a symbol. I felt I needed something personal because I not only designed the festival's brand identity, but I also contributed to it and believed in and supported the idea behind it.

Not much later, I found the inspiration. Over the last few years, my partner and I captured many windmills on instant photography, and we built a significant collection together. As I looked at them, they were all made of wood. Some were small, some big, with one leg or without. We captured them on sunny or windy days. No matter how different shapes they had or how similar they were, no two are alike; even one the same is not the same. The season, the light, and the daytime made a difference, just like water lilies painted all over again by Claude Monet. Every single memory makes windmills different, and instant photography makes them timeless. ​​​​​​​

For me, it was that simple. An essential ingredient of the Timeless Award's identity must be a windmill, and instant photography creates the look and feel around it. ​​​​​​​
Once I had found the essential ingredient, I started the design exploration, trying to find the right shape.

I prepared the logotype with the festival name and keywords.
